Mike Kerins, CFA, FRM
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Mike Kerins is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of RobustWealth. Prior to RobustWealth, Mike spent eight years at Franklin Templeton, where he managed an investment team overseeing a global portfolio of assets equaling $40 billion. He also served as head of asset class research and has expertise spanning strategic and tactical asset allocation, portfolio construction, target date strategies and liquid alternatives. Mike is a CFA charter holder as well as a certified Financial Risk Manager. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado and has a certificate in Computational Finance from the University of Washington. He lives with his wife and three children in Lambertville, NJ.
Rick Frisbie is the Chairman of RobustWealth. Rick most recently served as Executive Vice President for Franklin Templeton’s multi-asset and alternative businesses. Prior to these positions, Rick served as Chief Administrative Officer, where his responsibilities included acquisitions and strategic planning. As President of Franklin Templeton's Retirement Division, he led the buildout of a business with over $100 billion in assets under management.
He earned his M.B.A. from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, and a B.A. from the University of Virginia. He lives in Woodside, CA with his wife and son.
Chief Technology Officer
Chris is the Chief Technology Officer of RobustWealth. He is responsible for database architecture and development, technology infrastructure, and cloud security. Before joining RobustWealth, he was the founder of an IT consulting firm focused on the financial services and healthcare industries. Chris provided due diligence, network design, and data warehousing solutions to private equity firms focused on growth through acquisition strategies. Chris served in the United States Army from 2005 to 2008. He lives in Ocean Gate, NJ with his fiancé.
Chief Financial Officer
Brian is the Chief Financial Officer of RobustWealth. He is a Director with the regional accounting firm of Horvath & Giacin, P.C. Prior to Horvath & Giacin, he worked as an auditor with the state of Maryland where he participated in fiscal compliance audits of numerous state agencies, including the Maryland State Police and the State Highway Administration. Brian specializes in audit and internal controls with a focus on technology companies. He has been published in the New Jersey CPA magazine for his analysis of revenue recognition for technology and bundled services. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Bucks County Estate Planning Council. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting, from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. He is a Pennsylvania and Florida licensed Certified Public Accountant. He lives in Doylestown with his family.
Chief Investment Officer
Rob is the Chief Investment Officer of RobustWealth. He is responsible for the development and implementation of RobustWealth’s investment strategy. He has 25 years of investment experience including 16 years as a managing director for the CooperNeff Group, a multi-strategy alternatives company. During his tenure at CooperNeff, Rob was responsible for a global multi-billion dollar process trading operation that was comprised of a staff of 50 professionals. He holds an MBA from Wharton where he graduated with honors. Rob also served on the board of Archipelago, an electronic trading platform that was subsequently acquired by the New York Stock Exchange. He lives with his wife and two children in Bucks County, PA.
Kevin is RobustWealth’s Quantitative Analyst. Kevin is responsible for running the trading and rebalancing algorithm. He is also actively involved in coding test procedures for the trading system, and statistical analysis of RobustWealth’s investment models. In addition to coding and financial analysis, Kevin employs his background in design to work with the marketing team on various projects. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Rider University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He is self-taught and fluent in multiple programming languages such as Excel VBA, SQL, Python, and R. He is an active market-watcher, a stock and options trader, and a monitor of multiple charts on a daily basis. He is currently a CFA level II candidate. Kevin lives in Lambertville, NJ. When he’s not studying for his CFA exams, he enjoys exercising, learning about wine, and spending time with his girlfriend.
VP, Sales & Implementation
Ryan Horvath is a VP, Sales & Implementation for RobustWealth. He is charged with both business and platform development. He leads strategic initiatives related to RobustWealth having the most competitive suite of features in the market for our Advisors clients. Ryan works closely with clients to ensure that the RobustWealth platform exceeds their technology aspirations. His experience in the market with clients, coupled with managing specifications across the development teams, are key to the success of RobustWealth.
Ryan graduated in the top 10 percent of his class at the University of the Miami (FL). He holds degrees in Business Administration, Finance & Marketing, as well as Political Science. He has a passion for building websites, and placed third in a statewide (NJ) competition for their creation. He resides in New Hope PA, and is renowned for putting in seven day weeks.
VP, Strategic Relationships
Jessica Wilson is the VP, Strategic Relationships for RobustWealth. Previously, she spent a combined 7.5 years doing intermediary wholesaling for RIAs, independent BDs and Wirehouses. She started her career at Victory Capital, selling mutual funds, ETFs and separately managed accounts. She most recently worked with Alliance Benefit Group Rocky Mountain selling 401k recordkeeping and administrative services. Jessica is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in Finance. She lives in Denver, CO with her husband.
AVP, Marketing and Media
Stephanie is the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Media at RobustWealth. She is responsible for RobustWealth's marketing, advertising, event planning and social media. Stephanie maintains the website and blog for RobustWealth as well as manages their public relations and press releases. Stephanie graduated from the University of Massachusetts, School of Social and Behavioral Sciences with a degree in Communications and Minor in Spanish. During her time at UMass, Stephanie honed her skills in Business Marketing, Writing and Social Media Analytics and was a member of their NCAA Division I Women's Rowing Team. She lives in Doylestown, PA.
Client Experience Manager
Alfia is a Client Experience Manager at RobustWealth. She focuses on customer service and experience, sales, client onboarding, and product management. She has previous experience in a wealth management company where she was responsible for financial and administrative operations. She also has 10 years of public accounting experience in auditing, financial accounting and taxation. Alfia holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a double major in Finance & Accounting. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rider University. She also holds a B.A. in Russian Literature and Language. Alfia loves the outdoors and activities such as sailing, flying planes, painting, reading, exploring, doing yoga and playing the piano. She lives in Lambertville, NJ.
Client Experience Manager
Steven is a Client Experience Manager at RobustWealth. Steven ensures excellent customer service and client satisfaction. He builds and maintains relationships with clients. He also lets customers know about other products the company offers. Steven attends meetings with clients to build relationships with existing accounts, and he emphasizes and resolves areas of concern as raised by clients. He consistently updates the CRM software, ensuring account managers are aware of changes regarding their clients. Steven has 10 years of client management experience including creating and maintaining client/business relationships. He has a degree in Business Management and Marketing from Raritan Valley. He lives in Lambertville, NJ with his girlfriend of two years.
VP, Product Development
Mo is the Vice President of Product for RobustWealth. He is in charge of all product initiatives and leads the strategic direction of our platform. Before RobustWealth, Mo was the Founder of BingeU, a streaming discovery engine and guide. He was the Director of Web Development for Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) as well as the Tech Lead and Software Architect in previous roles. Mo has been publicized in The Handbook of Computer Networks, Volume 1, Key Concepts, Data Transmission, and Digital and Optical Networks. He graduated from Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science as well as a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Western Michigan University. Mo has a passion for photography and enjoys hiking and traveling around the world. He lives in Rockland County, New York with his wife and son.
AVP, Product Development
Dillon is the Assistant Vice President of Product Management at RobustWealth and is responsible for planning, building and testing the platform’s newest features. In addition to spearheading product offerings from conception to release, Dillon is responsible for facilitating systemic platform integrations and scoping enterprise projects for financial institutions of various sizes. Prior to joining the RobustWealth team, he spent ten years in education with roles ranging from teaching to directing regional operations for STEM-based start-ups. He holds two Master’s degrees and received his two Bachelor’s degrees from Penn State. He and his wife live in Doylestown, PA where he is preparing to be the ‘world’s okay-est dad’ for when his daughter arrives in January 2018.
Andrei is a Senior Engineer at RobustWealth and is responsible for the backend, microservices on our platform. Prior to his time at RobustWealth, Andrei spent a combined 6 years working as a Senior Software Engineer with large online businesses working on their backend development, web services, ETL, data processing and development. He spent an additional 6 years as a Senior Programmer and Analyst for CDG Management. Andrei attended Russian State Geological Prospecting University as well as Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). He lives in Roosevelt, NJ with his wife and two children.
Jes is a Front-end Web Developer. He is responsible for implementing visual and interactive elements for users. Previously, he worked as desktop application developer, and he has been web developing since 2013. Jes has a B.S. in Information Technology from SPAMAST, a technology school in the Philippines. He loves movies, music, playing with dogs and eating delicious foods. He lives with his mom in Davao, Philippines.
Ed is a Senior Engineer at RobustWealth and is responsible for LAMP stack and database development. Prior to RobustWealth, Ed has a combined 25 years of diverse technology experience in the financial domain as both a hands-on developer and technical manager. He has served in a variety of different positions including Senior Consultant, Technical Director and CTO. Ed spent 15 years with Bloomberg LP and has an additional 10 years of technical consulting. He received his bachelor degree in Economics from Rutgers University and his Master’s Degree in Finance from Temple University. Ed has three children and is the proud Grandfather to two Granddaughters. He lives in Columbus, NJ with his wife.
Stephanie is a Full Stack Developer for RobustWealth. She is responsible for implementing platform features for RobustWealth. In the past, she was a freelance developer. She completed Rutgers Coding Bootcamp. She has a Master’s degree in Music from Concordia University, Wisconsin and a B.A. in Music from Eastern University. She enjoys playing guitar and reading, and she lives in Somerset, NJ.
Prajacta is a Full Stack Developer at RobustWealth and primarily works on the development of the advisor dashboard. She works on the front and back end for delivering customized requirements for the dashboard with PHP, JQuery and MySQL database. Earlier, she worked at Capgemini in India as a software engineer. She has a Master's degree in Computer Science from Sacred Heart University, CT and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Mumbai University, India. She loves to paint and lives in New Hope, PA.
Vaibhav is a Web Developer for RobustWealth. He is a full-stack developer who is responsible for creating front and back-end structures. He has 5 years of professional experience as a Sr. PHP Developer at Accenture Federal Services, Douglas County School District, Etilox Solutions and Netclues Technologies. He has experience developing with PHP, Drupal, CodeIgniter Framework, HTML, CSS, JS, jQuery, Wordpress, Restful and SOAP web services. He has a degree in Computer Engineering and a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from India. Vaibhav is constantly experimenting with new technologies and techniques. As a passionate web developer, he strives to better both himself and the entire development community. Currently, he resides in Lawrenceville, NJ with his wife.
Vice President, Engineering
Marc is the Vice President of Engineering. He is responsible for enhancing the reliability and speed of the RobustWealth platform. He swiftly delivers new product features, implements application layers, and structures the engineering team for agile development. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Rowan University and has held senior developer positions at The American Management Association, Merrill Lynch, Siemens Corp and Cerner Healthcare. Marc lives in Lambertville, NJ with his wife and two kids. He enjoys traveling, hiking and paddling.
Edwin Bryan Rosete
Sr. UX Designer
Edwin is RobustWealth’s Senior UX Designer. Edwin creates multiple designs, furthers the RobustWealth brand and helps build the online user interface and experience. Edwin graduated as a Computer Technician from Interface Computer College in the Philippines. He pursued his talent as a Graphic Designer and won 34 design contests in two years through one of the known crowd sourcing companies. Before that, Edwin served the EBJR (Web and Ads Solution) Company as a Lead Designer and usually managed three clients a day. He lives in Lambertville, NJ with his wife and two children and enjoys doing arts and amateur magic tricks with his family.
Aniket is a Web Developer for RobustWealth. He is a full stack developer team leader who is responsible for creating front and back end technologies. In the past, he was also a web developer for Mastertech Web Applications in India where he maintained a portfolio of more than 20 websites with custom features. Aniket has helped teach programming and web development courses. He has a Master’s of Science from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut and a Bachelors in Engineering. He enjoys cycling and playing ping pong. He lives in New Hope, PA.
John Augenblick, CFP
John Augenblick is the President of Rockwood Wealth Management. He is committed to the development and growth of conflict-free comprehensive financial planning and investment management. He uses his expertise to write a finance column for the Bucks County Herald independent newspaper, and he serves as a trustee for the Mercer Museum and the New Hope Historical Society.
Prior to joining Rockwood Wealth Management, John worked as a Fee-Only financial advisor at Toal & Associates, LLC. John previously served his country as a naval officer in the submarine warfare community. A certified nuclear engineer, John supervised the operation of naval nuclear reactors and was responsible for nuclear weapons targeting and training.
John graduated from the United States Naval Academy with distinction, earning a degree in Systems Engineering. While teaching engineering at the United States Naval Academy, John earned his MBA at Johns Hopkins University where he focused his studies on portfolio development, investment analysis, and corporate management. John is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) Practitioner.
John lives in Solebury, Pennsylvania with his wife Elizabeth and their two children. John is an automobile enthusiast and an advocate of land preservation. He enjoys playing soccer, sailing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Bill Borchert has been in the financial services and community banking industries for almost 30 years. He has been a business-owner and industry leader for over 25 years. Bill founded IFS, Inc. (Financial Planning for business-owners) in 1985 and created BFSG (Executive & Director benefit plans and financing strategies) in 1998. He has earned national recognition in the community and regional bank markets as a leader, speaker, and author on executive & director supplemental benefits and BOLI financing strategies. Bill is a regular speaker at business and sales conferences on the topics of “Thinking Big” and “Sales Performance”.
After developing BFSG into the leading provider of bank benefits & BOLI in the Northeast, Bill expanded the company nationally in 2003. BFSG now has 11 Regional Offices in the U.S., including Newport Beach, CA, Boston, MA, and Minneapolis, MN. Bill has 5 sons (ages 13-26) and twin daughters. He has been actively involved in youth sports & coaching for many years, including soccer, hockey, wrestling, and Pop Warner football. Bill and his wife, Tricia, have been actively involved in community charitable activities, including providing college scholarships to Princeton High School student-athletes through the Princeton Education Foundation, funding projects with Habitat for Humanity, major contributors to The Princeton Ballet Company and Wounded Warriors Project, and as a Board Member and major contributor to Christine’s Hope for Kids Foundation.
When J.D. was auditing Pre-IPO Internet companies at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the late 90’s, his ponytail was an advantage. But, ready to get rich in a billion dollar IPO, J.D. left the world of public accounting to join an internet company right before the tech crash... Oops. Nearly a decade passed consulting as a Controller, and CFO for technology companies, advertising agencies, and banks. While doing this, J.D. earned a Masters Degree in Information Technology from Golden Gate University.
Since becoming the President of Abacus Wealth Partners, J.D. has become a leading voice in RIA focused technology. He is a frequent conference speaker on technology issues, including T3, Schwab Impact, TD LINC, and the XY Planning Conference. He wrote the cloud computing section for “Technology Tools for Today's High-Margin Practice” by Joel Bruckenstein and David Drucker, and has been a member of the judging panel for the Orion Fuse hackathon since its inception in 2013.
To enhance his geek persona, J.D. plays Dungeons & Dragons (usually as the Dungeon Master), can beat his teenagers at Mario Cart, and collects medieval weapons.
Robert Dunn, CFP
Robert B. Dunn is the President and Managing Partner of Private Wealth Management Group in Princeton, NJ. He believes in setting your sights high, constructing definitive and ambitious goals, and steadily moving toward them. He is well respected in his community where he has been director of a youth basketball program also coaching football and baseball. Bob also serves on the Advisory Board for the Bank of Princeton, New Jersey.
Bob is dedicated to improving the financial experience for all. To forward this goal he is an enthusiastic member of the Mercer County Estate Planning Council, The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA/Fee-Only Advisors) and The Financial Planning Association (FPA).
Bob discovered his passion for exceptional service while attending the University of Denver. After turning a struggling hospitality business into a multimillion dollar success he was able to fulfill his passion for financial planning by joining Private Wealth in 1999. Bob soon after earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) designation.
Bob and his wife, Stephanie, are proud parents of two boys; Bode and Ty. They all enjoy skiing, team sports and their local park. Bob has a passion to help those in need. His participation in the Battle Against Hunger each year raises funds for the Rescue Mission of Trenton and the Trenton Soup Kitchen.
Kimbery Foss, CFP, CPWA
Kimberly Foss, CFP®, CPWA®, is the founder and president of Empyrion Wealth Management™ and the author of Wealthy by Design: A 5-Step Plan for Financial Security (Greenleaf Book Group Press, 2013). For more than three decades, she has dedicated herself to helping others make wise investment choices. With her guidance, her clients have been able to grow their wealth with significant above-market returns.
As the youngest of six children in a low-income household, Kimberly learned the importance of making wise money decisions at a young age. Later, she spent more than a decade as a single mother, an experience that taught her the importance of seizing control of one’s own financial fate.
Today, those life experiences inform Kimberly’s approach to wealth management, as she brings both technical expertise and real passion to her work with her clients. She especially enjoys helping women in transition, including widows and divorcées, family stewards, and retirees and those preparing to retire.
Kimberly began her career as the youngest female account executive at that time at Merrill Lynch. In 1989, she decided to leave behind the commission-driven environment of a stock brokerage firm to found E&A Investment Advisory. The firm, which was renamed Empyrion Wealth Management in 2004, went on to be named one of the nation’s top wealth managers by Bloomberg Wealth Manager Magazine.
A popular speaker, Kimberly has appeared on Today, Good Morning America, CNBC and Fox News, and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, MSN Money, Forbes, Investor’s Business Daily and U.S. News & World Report. She is also a trusted source for financial industry publications, including Financial Advisor, and contributes a regular column to Financial Planning.
John Horvath, CPA
John is a founding member of the Certified Public Accounting firm Horvath & Giacin, PC, established in 1989. He has been a Certified Public Accountant for over 30 years, practicing in both public and private accounting. Prior to public accounting, John served as division controller for a Fortune 500 company. He has assisted numerous clients in assessing mergers, acquisitions and sales of their business. He is a charter member of the Hunterdon /Warren chapter of the NJSCPA and a member of the AICPA.
He served on the first committee-appointed peer review teams established by the New Jersey Society of CPA’s and has performed numerous peer reviews of fellow CPA firms. John is a founding member of The Bank of Princeton, which services New Jersey and Philadelphia and has expanded to thirteen branches since its inception. He has also served on the advisory committee for Sun Bank, and he is a founding member of Planned Investment Equities, a real estate investment company formed in 1985.
As chief executive officer of ETF.com, David Lichtblau led the business through rapid growth and a successful acquisition by Bats Global Markets. Prior to assuming this role, he was chief operating officer and led the product management, marketing, operations and finance teams for ETF.com. Prior to ETF.com, David led the next-generation product line for portfolio managers and analysts at Thomson Reuters. He joined Thomson Reuters via the acquisition of StarMine, a startup that offered equity analytics and research tools for professional investors. As the first executive hire, David founded the product management, marketing and media relations teams. Prior to StarMine, he co-founded Stanford Technology Group, the company that pioneered relational online analytical processing for data warehouses that was acquired by IBM. David earned his B.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
John MacIlwaine has served as Chief Technology Officer of the Lending Club Corporation for the last four years. He is a senior business and technology professional with twenty years of experience in executive level and CIO/CTO roles, primarily within the financial services industry. His expertise lies in technology innovation, strategic vision, implementation execution and operational excellence in both early stage and mature companies.
At Lending Club, John manages an organization of 400 professionals in a variety of different geographic locations both onshore and offshore and is accountable for their budget exceeding $45mm.
Alongside his work at Lending Club, John has been a member of the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board at the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Engineering.
From 2007-2011, John served as the Head of Global Development at Visa Inc. where he was responsible for generating revenue and development of customer facing applications.
John has well-honed client management and executive presentation skills. He is a collaborative business partner and leader, has outstanding analytical and problem solving abilities, and is able to deliver quantifiable results that meet and exceed objectives.
Dan founded Wilder Mind Films, a boutique production company that leverages his UK roots to bring customized financing solutions to deserving projects. Wilder Mind Films is currently developing a major motion picture due to be released in late 2017.
Prior to establishing Wilder Mind Films, Dan was Chairman and CEO of his family’s UK civil engineering and construction business. Over the course of 5 years, Dan oversaw a quadrupling of revenues, and a significant expansion of the profit margin, as he restructured the business.
Dan started his career as an officer and fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force. After graduation from the Royal Air Force College, Cranwell, and completing flight training, he served on operations across the globe whilst flying the Tornado F3 aircraft. Dan was selected as the youngest fighter pilot of his generation to attend the RAF Qualified Weapons Instructor Course (Top Gun). He was selected as the first and only non-American fighter pilot in the world to transfer into the United States Air Force, and fly the most advanced fighter on the planet, the stealth F-22 Raptor. He served as a combat instructor, teaching U.S pilots to fly and fight the F-22.
Dan attained his MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School ofBusiness. He went on to join Franklin Templeton Investments, and moved to New York where he helped lead its Private Wealth division.
Dan’s hobbies include boxing, flying and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He also established a foundation to support, train and sponsor many less fortunate local youth from the Northeast of England and the foundation has recently established itself in Los Angeles. It partnered with a private school to offer scholarships to children from difficult backgrounds.
Sue Thompson, CPA, JD
Sue Thompson is President and CEO of Thompson Peak Advisory, consulting with asset managers and ETF investment strategists, particularly on distribution and marketing. She also serves as an Independent Trustee on Franklin Templeton's ETF board.
Previously, she was a Senior Advisor to BlackRock, advising the firm on the ETF Investment Strategist, asset management and the Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) landscape. Mrs. Thompson was also a Managing Director of BlackRock, where she headed the distribution teams focused on institutional asset managers, hedge funds, family offices and RIAs. She was also responsible for creating and developing the firm’s highly regarded Connect program.
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2007, Mrs. Thompson was a Principal at Vanguard, heading the national sales team focused on full service brokerage firms. She joined Vanguard in 1999 as Senior Counsel, specializing in tax law and structured products. Prior to joining Vanguard, Mrs. Thompson was an attorney at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP in California, in the public finance practice.
Mrs. Thompson is one of the founders of the industry group Women in ETFs (WE) and was the organization’s co-President. She is also an active member of 100 Women in Hedge Funds. Mrs. Thompson was voted one of the top women in the fund management industry and has been a frequent contributor to various publications and media
Mrs. Thompson earned a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Washington in 1987 and a JD from University of California, Davis in 1996. She is also a C.P.A. and holds her Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation through the Investment Management Consultants Association in conjunction with the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Richard is a Founding Partner of Prism Advisory Group LLC and Prism Funds LLC. He graduated cum laude from Princeton University in 1983 with a degree in Economics. Richard was drafted by the New Jersey Nets and played basketball professionally in Europe before embarking on his career in finance in 1984.
Richard’s long-standing client relationships are a testament to his financial acumen and the success of his career, which includes starting and managing his own investment firms. Richard holds Series 7, 8, 31, 63 and 65 registrations from FINRA, a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative. He is a member of IMCA, the Investment Management Consultants Association.
Richard lives in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, with his wife Abigail and two children. He is an avid reader of business and finance information, and he enjoys golf and wine. Richard serves as Treasurer for Princeton Child Development Institute, a non-profit organization and school for people with Autism.
